Belles marges.
Lieure 1339-1347 and 1349-1356, Lieure 1348 missing. - Mostly III (of III, 1341, 1344 and 1356 each II of III). - Mostly fine impressions with fine to broad margins around the plate edges. Few defects, overall good condition. Three additional pieces: 1. 'La Carrière de Nancy' or' La Revue Neuve de Nancy'. Lieure 589 (I or II, cut on lower margin) ; 2. La halte des bohémiens: les disuers du bonne-aventure. Lieure 376; 3. After Jacques Callot. La grande chasse. Etching. Reversed copies. The additional pieces with more defects.

Wide margins. Second state (of 2). Coat-of-arms watermark. From La Vie de Ferdinand 1er de Médicis. A very good impression of this extremely scarce, early etching.
We have not found another impression at auction in the past 30 years.
Ferdinando I de' Medici, Grand Duke of Tuscany (1549-1609) is shown seated at a table and presented plans for the restoration of the great cupola of the Duomo (seen in the distance through the open window) in Florence. Lieure 149

Second state (of 4), before Silvestre's address. Trimmed on or just inside the plate mark. A superb, dark and richly-inked impression with all the delicately etched details in the background distinct. Lieure 353.

Thread margins. Second state (of 5), with Callot's name lower right, but before Israel's address. Lorraine cross watermark (which Lieure notes for the earliest impressions of Callot's etchings). A very good, well-inked, early impression with strong contrasts; scarce in this early state.

Small margins. Third state (of 5). Large eagle watermark (Lieure 60). A superb, dark, richly-inked and early impression of this important etching, with all the details distinct, with little to no sign of wear and with crisp, partially inky plate edges. Lieure 1416.
